Looking at where you’ve been and what you’ve accomplished gives you a fresh perspective on the future. When you browse our website, you’ll be able to discover PWAC’s past achievements and see how they’ve shaped future plans.
The benefits of our 2018 conference “Level UP” are still being felt. It reinvigorated many of us and given us new enthusiasm for our own futures, as well as PWAC’s. We’ve received many comments along this line from those who attended. We will be sharing the conference’s professional development materials in the near future, made available first to PWAC members.
We’ve learned the value of collaboration. This was the theme of one of the conference sessions and a big take-away from our joint conference with CMG Freelance Branch. Carrying this forward, we’re linking with the When Words Collide festival (WWC) in Calgary August 9-11, 2019. PWAC members will be able to join many other writers and share our perspectives on non-fiction work while discussing many issues important to writers from all genres. Many of our members are also engage in poetry and fiction. As part of the WWC program there will be three sessions presented by PWAC and PWAC members will get special rates at any of PWAC-only events.
We will continue to work with other organizations to promote and protect the rights of writers. This is another thing we’ve learned – writers and other content creators are embattled as never before, and cooperation with like-minded groups will give us a stronger voice and more power over our own futures. Building on our past experience, PWAC has developed a very clear and sharp view ahead.
We welcome all non-fiction writers to PWAC, regardless of the type of writing you are doing. Please take a few moments to learn more about our membership benefits and Join Us. You’ll be glad you did!
