      1. Magazine or newspaper articles (print or online)
      2. Major writing projects (e.g. annual reports; government reports; newsletters, speeches; documentaries and scripts for radio, TV, film, web-based entertainment, live performance, radio broadcasts, or telecasts; press kits; brochures; information kits)
    • Have magazine or newspaper staff writing experience (one or more years full-time or equivalent part-time experience)
    • Have had one non-fiction book professionally published; or
    • Be a former Professional Member who left the association in good standing
  • Associate Membership, for those who are just setting out on their writing careers.  To become an Associate Member, you must meet one of the following criteria:

    • Be a former Associate Member who left the association in good standing
  • Student Membership, for those registered full-time at a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada or who have graduated within the past year from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada

Professional and Associate Member dues are $250 annually, and are pro-rated in the year you join.  Our membership year is April 1 to March 31, so if you join in October (half-way through the year), your first year's dues are pro-rated to only $125.  Student Member dues are only $40 and are not pro-rated.  As a Registered National Arts Service Organization, PWAC does not currently charge HST/PST.
